The concept of Casa Fredrickson grew out of the unique shape of its building site, and the desire to make efficient use of local building materials. Locally sourced Rammed Earth aggregrate and Ponderosa Pine siding make the structure blend seamlessly into its surroundings. On the interior, salvaged white Colorado Marble adorns the bathroom surfaces. The passive solar kitchen/living area is an exercise in bringing the outdoors in. Animas Architects principal and founder, Blake Fredrickson, was the designer, builder and contractor for his family’s residence.
